Big Spring United Lutheran Church began as a mission- a creative collaboration among several small congregations that joined forces to serve their community. At the time, the local Interfaith Council of Churches was running a food pantry out of a small shed and needed more space. Instead of building a traditional sanctuary, the community made a bold decision: they prioritized creating a food distribution center to meet urgent hunger needs. Not every church in the co-op chose to merge physically, but we’re blessed to have members from all of them as part of our congregation today. Their choice to serve others first reflects a deep commitment to God’s mission, and it's made our community even stronger.
