​Big Spring Area Food Bank is a ministry that began its monthly food distributions in 1990.  Since 2010, distributions have been made from Big Spring United Lutheran Church. Distributions are made every month to families living in the Big Spring School District. The food bank has been serving an average of 180 families per month.

The normal distribution date is the last Monday of the month, except for May, November, and December. During these months, it will be the Monday before the Memorial Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas holidays.
 
In the event of inclement weather, check the Facebook page, call 717-422-4603, or check ABC 27 or CBS 21. The Food Bank follows the Big Spring School District schedule for delay or cancellation. If there is a 2 hour delay, distribution will being at 11am. If school is cancelled,distribution will be postponed until the day that school is open.
